The Process

At One Horizon, we have a thorough process in place for acquiring businesses that ensures a seamless transition of ownership. The first step involves an introductory call with the business owner to establish rapport and trust. We execute a confidentiality agreement to protect the owner's privacy and gain a deeper understanding of the business.

The next step is alignment and understanding, where a member of our team meets with the owner to understand their goals and preferred structure. From there, we work towards a general agreement on terms and price while conducting financial and operating diligence.

Once alignment has been achieved, we move on to a letter of intent and due diligence. Our team works with the owner to create a comprehensive transition plan, while conducting a more in-depth due diligence process. During this time, we may also have multiple in-person visits with the owner to solidify the relationship.

Finally, we reach the closing stage, where we finalize the agreement and transition ownership to our team, who assumes the day-to-day operations of the business. Our ultimate goal is to preserve the legacy of the business while driving long-term growth and profitability.
